Community Collaboration As we increasingly ‘connect the dots’ between issues and influences in community, we also need to increase our capacity to think and act in collaborative ways that seek common ground and influences joint ownership over issues at hand. However, collaboration is more than what we do together. Collaboration is also how we be together. And, through our doing and being, collaboration is how we create together.

Collaboration is also hard work. It often requires the negotiation of differing intentions, assumptions and perspectives. However, when collaboration is successful, it has the potential to result in outcomes that no one organization or individual could accomplish on their own.
The BCHC Integral Capacity Building Framework provides guidance for supporting the development of successful collaboration by focusing on building mutual understanding, transparency and trust.
In your experience, what makes a collaboration successful? What makes it unsuccessful?
